Not the brightest chap, I'd expect him to face charges equal to shooting at someone running away. His passenger's comments made me raff.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
A dashcam caught a man shooting through his own windshield at another driver on the 417 in Orange County.

The man said he opened fire because the other driver flashed a gun at him first.

The driver, Marco Mazzetta, posted the video on YouTube. He said he was trying to defend himself because he believes he, or his passengers were in danger of being shot.

Florida Highway Patrol says it shows how dangerous it can be to argue with other drivers on the highway.

“You don’t know the mindset of the other driver that you might get involved in some kind of situation. A lot of people carry weapons in their cars. This could have really escalated to somebody getting shot, somebody getting killed,” Florida Highway Patrol’s Kim Montes said.

The in car-video shows another car driving aggressively. At one point, it gets extremely close to Mazzetta’s truck. He says he tapped the brakes and the other car bumped him then speeds around him.

Later, the second car slows down and Mazzetta says that driver pulled out a gun and pointed it at him.

That’s when Mazzetta says he took out his own gun and fired because he feared the other man, was going to shoot him.

Mazzetta did not want to do an interview but told WESH 2’s Bob Hazen through text, “I’m not a fan of guns; I’m a fan of not getting shot.

I know this video doesn’t capture my smartest moments but I hope any idiot criminal with a gun watching thinks twice before loading, brandishing & aiming their firearm at someone over a traffic infraction.”

He also says after the shooting he reported the incident himself to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. https://www.wesh.com/article/dash-c...ough-own-windshield-in-orange-county/34196960

depends. my car is starting to nickel and dime me to death. can i drop it off at a local tactical training range right before i shoot it?

So he admits to tapping the brakes in front of the other driver, charge him with assault.

I don’t understand why some people try to interfere with someone else being stupid (at least it seems stupid from the perspective of the person that’s getting involved). Just get out of the way and let the person go do what they want, it’s not your place to enforce the law and you don’t know what the other drivers situation is. It’s safer for everyone to just give up the lane.

I had a guy show me a gun on the highway near greensboro once, i had cut him off without knowing and he was PISSED! I put my gun on my lap and then gestured to him like my bad buddy and kept driving. He sped off about 90 mph, ran the red light we were coming to and that was it. no video, no cops, no shots fired. I told my oldest about it to show her that there really are people out there that will throw their entire life away to show you whats what.

The way I go home from work, I have to turn left out of a side street into a median and either wait to or merge immediately depending on traffic. The downside is there’s a left turn lane about an eighth of a mile further down the road I’m merging onto and people who intend to turn left will speed up and do everything they can to block me and a coworker who goes the same way just so they can be “in front”....then promptly slam on the brakes so they can hit the turn lane. Makes no sense yet the ego related to “being in front” is alive and well, and people will do really dumb things to protect that ego

Why? That’s what Carrie Underwood suggested in her song, “Jesus Take the Wheel.” lol

I heard a comedian do a stand up routine about that...in the song, the car starts to skid on black ice, loses control, the driver throws her hands in the air and screams, “JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL!”

He said Jesus is like, “Tell ya what...how about you take your foot off the brake, put you hands at 10/2 and steer in the direction of the skid?”

LMAO

I have never understood the rage and stupidity suffered by other drivers. I have had plenty of people do stupid things on the road around me and while I get angry for a second or two it just isn't worth it to blow my lid over it.

I was passing a guy on a 4 lane road yesterday in my trash truck. He was tooling along at 50 in a 65. I moved into the left lane and about the time my front bumper was at his back bumper he decided he didn't want to be passed by a trash truck so he floors it. And that's when the ladder he had in the bed came out of the truck and he had to slam on the brakes. I chuckled and got back over into the right lane. Dumbass.

I learned to let my ego go a long time ago. I've been shot at on the highway in Charlotte because my friend honked his horn at a car that almost rammed us by trying to merge in our lane without looking. Luckily the door stopped the bullet from hitting me. I treat everyone on the road and in person as if they have a gun since then.

Good Grief!

I'ma gonna stay outa Charlotte... jus' sayin'.

I thought the passengers reaction was priceless. Reminds me of a friend who, while sitting in a car on a rainy day a the range, decided to discharge his .357 out a cracked window. Next thing he knew, his friend came from the back seat and was beating him and choking him and calling him ugly names. :D

He has a nice camera though. Is he an Uber driver?

Heck naw. And I'm not surprised this moron posted it up. "What Orwell failed to predict is that we'd buy the cameras ourselves, and that our biggest fear would be that nobody was watching."

He became the aggressor when he pursued. Seriously, I think we all know what he really should have done.

My life has been much calmer since I acknowledge two things before driving these days: 1) I will encounter someone driving like a Richard, and ; 2) The two things that bring out the absolute worst in human nature are a keyboard, and a steering wheel.

I keep myself to myself over in the two right hand lanes. I move right to let faster traffic pass. I do not engage Richards. Instead, they are a source of amusement to me for the most part, just like the hipster man-child crowd in downtown Hillsborough...I'm retired now and much much easier to amuse.

We got one, CV19

Rubbish, it's a paper tiger and only really dangerous as a vehicle for governmental control in the name of manufactured fear.

I'm talking about a proper plague.
