WW2 Armored Vehicles Discovered in Iraq (2003)

They're all over the place in that part of the world. I'd bet nearly every "friendly " government got them as military aid I the 50's and 60's.

I posted this same video link over in the Veterans thread earlier today. Maybe the mods want to merge the two -- either forum would be fine with me.

My son spied an M24 Chaffee light tank at a U.S. base in Iraq when he was escorting convoys from Kuwait to Northern Iraq in 2007

Hatches popped. You know some joe has been inside trying to figure out if he can get it running.

One of my roommates in Germany figured out how to get into the Sherman we had as a static display on our kaserne and used to just hang out inside. He was kind of a strange one.

When I was in the Army in Berlin we had A M26 out front that we used to get in to and play, turn the main gun on cars driving down the road. A Pershing Made in 1945.

Harvey barracks where I was had an M4 easy 8 in front of th e barracks that a CWO got running and restored it off duty. Once he rotated back to the U.S. some GIs got into it and trashed it out.
