Now that my X95 is an SBR I wanted the shorter, original buttplate. Takes off another ~.75" of the OAL. These things are basically unobtanium so I started making my own. Took forever trying to get the angle right. I'm printing in PETG but the final product will be PETG/PC blend for some more stiffness while still being impact resistant compared to PLA. I've gotta figure out the spacer height so the pin/receiver takes the recoil instead of the plate lugs but my printer has been out of commission during a home move. My last test I forgot to print the lugs as 100% walls so they snapped pretty quick. I also learned my OC'd 7700k really struggles to render all the polygons for the texturing on the back.

The thinner buttplate cuts back the LOP and makes the gun even more tuckable. Makes it a little less back heavy too since that thicc rubber one is like a quarter lb.

Update, when I tested the first version, the top tabs snapped. I realized looking at the original plate that the flat inner section extended down into the angled bit. Mine was allowing the rubber buffer to press against the middle of the plate so the impact force was going into the plate/tabs instead of the pin. I've added a relief for it so it's more similar to the factory plate and takes the pressure off of the plate/tabs. Printing it now. Gonna be ready for release soon!

I got side tracked trying to fix my printer and haven't done much new stuff. I added some angles to make it need less supports and people on Reddit have been using it successfully in classes and general shooting. Had some requests to make it a bit thicker/stronger since it's bendable when it's off the gun so that's my next step. Some people wanted it to be a one piece for some reason so that's the step after the thicc-ening project. It's perfectly functional as is though.
