Yes or NO

Billy, you know this story, so I'll do the Readers Digest version here.
Me young brand new patrol copper working midnight shift. Stopped vehicle wanted in Agg. robbery (felony) that JUST happened. Made mistake of a solo stop. R/F passenger did the beat feet boogie. Me Covered by the then existing felon rule, I fired Two (2) .357 Magnum rounds form 4" M 19. Missed both times which turned out to be very lucky, as reported Agg, robbery was in fact a daring shop lift, Non felony.

A couple times to bumps in the night. 1 was a bear, 1 was either a potential B&E, peeping tom or some other reason a guy had to be in my yard in the middle of the night.

A (kinda) funny one....we just recently had a pizza joint open up that would deliver to our area. Their GPS system had the driver going down the street behind my house rather than in front where the drive is. The idiot driver, instead of going around the block, decided it was a good idea to come through the trees, across the dark back yard, up on the unlighted deck and knock on the sliding glass door. I about jumped out of my skin when he knocked and had a 1911 cleared before I saw who it was. Needless to say, the dude's tip did not reflect my normal generosity.

I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but here goes...
Without any personal experiences, stories, anecdotes, explainations, or qualifiers..........
Who on this forum has ever had to use a firearm to protect themselves or family in a criminal encounter?
I'll start.......YES
Showed my gun once. Not used, thank God!

Yes. Defense of myself twice. Defense of a stranger once (domestic violence situation that I stumbled into...)

Thankfully, no.
