You Can Shoot — But Can You Fight?

A lot of emphasis is placed on the individual shooter. Granted, if you find yourself alone you've got to do your best and should train as best you can for such things.

I say "should" because I don't train like that. I'm not physically fit nor do I do much outside of matches which is "gaming". Even when it comes to 2 gun centerfire etc. That's just goofing around and isn't "tactical training" or whatever you'd call it.

If I'm going to survive something other than a sidewalk holdup by a novice criminal, I'm going to need something that is THE most important survival item: friends.

Bring friends. Bring lots of friends. Bring lots of friends with guns.
In the big fight, it will take an army of friends.

26. Can I transition from a rifle to a handgun?

I noted he's starting with a rifle. But, you have to be fluid both ways. Yes, I said weapon fluid. You have to be able to know how to transition effectively from any weapon to any other weapon. Handgun, rifle, shotgun, knife. It's a warrior mindset.

There is no such a thing as a "fair fight". And as one that has practiced shooting my whole adult life.More years than many of the members here have been alive ,over 55 years.Yes I can hit a moving target. My wife is a good shot also. At my age I'm not going to try and physically fight with anyone younger than me.My motto is " Never start a fight with an old man,If he's to tired to fight he will just kill you". And I am tired.!!!! So go ahead ,Under estimate me,It will be fun....

What are you gents calling a fair fight and how does one fight unfairly?

Is it like the difference between a boxing match and a Jackie Chan movie?

He's a Marine. Transitioning from a rifle to a handgun is important because every Marine is a rifleman. And a handgun in the military is the very least of firearms and far below the primary weapon in both choice and power.

For us, it's much more typically the other way around. Handguns are the primary for firearm defense because of ease of carry/concealability.

A fair fight in one in which you have all the advantages and your opponent doesn't.

I usta-could in my yout with Jr & high school wrestling, black belt in Judo & taking the state championship. The techniques degrade rapidly without use.
Now the goal is for this old man to get home in one piece, and not have to pay a lawyer and .gov to stay free.
