Man! Y'all ain't kidding with them nightstand guns! I just got a lowly old XD Tactical pulling gaurd duty. She ain't fancy, but she runs. And, she was cheaper than I had remembered!
I can understand that counter-point. But an adrenaline rush can wake you up right quick. It can also make you fumble the most mundane task.If youre too out of it to touch a button to turn on a light, probably too out of it to take someone's life.
That's why I parted with my Springer 1911a1. It was finicky, and I just didnt want it doing time in the safe when I'd rather have something that runs.The important part is that it runs. An expensive, beautiful gun is worthless if it don't run! I'd use a Hi-Point if I had one and it ran.
In the end, a Mossberg 12 gauge is my solution, with whatever I'm EDC in the nightstand. That's there for Mrs. if I need backup.
