ED755443-4714-4D84-A6E4-6894FDB5E737.jpeg came across these gems today.

Did the back of the primer come off leaving the sides of the primer inside the primer pocket? I have had that happen occasionally, especially on cases that had been wet and allowed to sit around for a while. If that is not the case, what type of primer came out of those cases?

I believe he's showing that there is some odd ball "super 38 spl" that is LPP vs regular 38spl that is SPP. I don't think any primer sides are stuck in the pockets.

Got it. It looked as if some of the pockets had shoulders in them. I suppose it is the lighting or my feeble eyes.

I have a partial box of 44 mg. Small primer. Glad it didn't catch on.

I reload 6.5 Grendel, some brass is LRP some is SRP. I end up sorting my mfg seems to take care of it.

Remove them from the gene pool with a hammer!

Do tell... where did you get that brass from? From what I read, the "super 38 special" was a precursor to the .357 magnum and was an attempt to get as much velocity out of the .38 special case. It did use a large pistol primer.

I got it in a bucket of range brass that may be 10 years old. Really don’t know anything about the caliber, tried a quick search but the word combination is super common.

Must have been a really old fart shooting that

Probably some kid. Gramps had a few boxes put up and when he passed junior took them to the range.

Probably.

Back when I was in school and worked part time for a vending machine company, we were always finding silver quarters that kids had found in their parent's stash. They made a distinctively different sound when dropped during counting.

I got a 1945 liberty dime at the Bojangles drive thru last month, guessing someone broke into granny’s piggy bank.
