Your fav pocket pistol

I have a thunderwear with a g19. Not really a "pocket" but you can't tell it is there. 15 rounds of 9 mm gold dots is about right for a man who will miss the first 3 or 4 out of sheer panic ;)

I had an LCP a few years ago that just wouldn't run reliably despite multiple trips back to its motherland. I hear the new ones are good to go and have been considering one.

My only current pocket gun is a Sig Sauer P290RS that I'm actually looking to trade. Nothing wrong with the gun itself, it actually has an insanely easy to rack slide. Sig Sauer actually has a video of the guy demonstrating that it can be racked with one (or two, can't remember) fingers.

I just couldn't get comfortable pocket carrying, but not willing to give up on it just yet...

I have an LCP Custom, a .380 Bodyguard, a .32 Seecamp and a Kel-Tec P3AT. I like them all, but when I carry in my pants pocket it is usually the Kel-Tec. It's the thinnest and lightest, fits my smallish hand and is simple and reliable. When I have a bigger pocket, I might take the LCP or Bodyguard. I didn't expect to be enamored with the Kel-Tec but bought it because of its small size and weight; after shooting it, I was surprised to find I really like it. If I were starting from scratch, I might go straight for the Kel-Tec. Your mileage, as they say, may

Right now my favorite pocket gun is my Ruger LCP 2. This gun has been 100% reliable with several different kinds of FMJ and hollow points as well as my reloads. Round count so far is around 450 rounds. The awesome trigger and decent sights make this gun very easy to shoot accurately and quickly. I paid $249 for mine. A close 2nd favorite is my Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380.

Sig P938. Sure, it does cost more, but I prefer the all metal, 1911-like controls. Using a Sticky holster for pocket carry and it just disappears

Same here. I carried the LCP for years but honestly can't hit a thing with it over 10 yds. With the P938 and that great trigger, I can hit silhouette steel at 30 yds.

I carried a KelTec P32 for about 11 years before buying an LCP (so my wife and I would have weapon and ammo compatibility when traveling) and I’ve never felt undergunned with either.

Although mine and Geezer's thoughts are alike, we are a little over budget. I have carried everyday since 1976 legally. Since about 86 or so, always two. Always evolving, mostly just to have first hand experience instead of hearsay or even readsay. Carried to Js for almost 20 years, then the changes came..first to one auto and a J, then finally 2 autos. Went through..2 G26s...2 P9s...2 P11s...2 G43s...2 Kahr CM40s...back to 2G43s now. I have tried and do use on occasion 2 LCPs. These times 2 at $169 are hard to beat. Just some food for thought from a daily carrier for 42 years legally. Before that I just broke the law.

Springfield 911 (.380ACP) loaded with Hornady Critical Defense, Speer Gold Dot hollow point, or if you can find it, Federal Premium Hydra-Shok. Break in is about 200 rounds FMJ. Buy 2 boxes of each and see which is most accurate at 25 yards. The trigger and reset are ABOVE average! Above average features, and no, it isn't the cheapest but then my life is worth it. Hope you never have to use it.....
This is my "get off me" gun. I'm a 1911 gal!

"...which is most accurate at 25 yards"?

In my case, I'd likely get better results throwing the boxes than trying to hit something 25 yards away with a handgun. So, I guess it comes down to which box is more aerodynamic?

With my pocket gun (.380) I generally practice at 7 and 12.5 yards. Much beyond that and my shooting with pocket guns is pretty iffy (it's iffy enough at 7 / 12.5). Then there is Jerry Miculek who shoots his .380 on target
at 200 yards:

. Amazing.

RM380

It is amazing that Remington took a $1,000 Rohrbaugh, actually improved the design slightly, did not screw up the gun's manufacturing (a major accomplishment for Big Green), and sells the gun for near $200 (some even bought them near $100 with recent rebates).

Trying out a new pocket pistol...... The Ruger EC9S is the no frills LC9S at a great price. Only 1" taller and 1" longer than the LCP.

I've got pretty big hands but this gives you an idea of the true size of the Ruger. Definitely smaller than the Shield and an AWESOME trigger to boot. 20180511_192825.jpg

My favorite shooter of the subcompacts is the PC Shield 9. Disappears with an alien gear holster at 5 o'clock. However, it is a bit big for pocket carry for my frame as the 1" width that it typical of subcompacts is very noticeable IMO, especially in shorts.

So when it comes to pocket carry it's all about width for me.

Keltec PF9 is a very thin 9mm if you want to stick with that caliber.

The beretta Pico is only 0.7" wide and a much softer shooter than most of the other guns that size.
