Just wondering what your thoughts are on the Glock 29 ? I hear some sa that 10mm is useless out of a short barrel. So, is it really a good choice for your EDC ?

I have carried mine months at time in a chiefjason holster and never thought it would be useless if needed . If I were planning to actually hunt with a 10 I would go with a different model but you only mentioned edc. Obviously, its not gonna carry like a shield or hellcat or anything in that category but if you have ever carried any glock sc you’ll be fine, its just a little wider.

I own one.

My daily carry rotation is typically either a G43, G26, or G19 depending on the weather, what I'm wearing and where I'm going.

When I head to the woods though the G29 takes the place of my daily carry. Recoil is very manageable, even with Underwood 200 gr hard casts.

I love mine, carry it out when I outside/woods gun…oh and when you put a special barrel (G20 barrel won’t fit) G20 size it really makes up for the short barrel difference…image.jpg

G23 for size comparison

I owned one for like a week. It feels like a brick. Would not buy another despite loving Glock and 10MM.
I've handled Dad's Glock 30, which is exactly the same size as a 29 as I'm sure you're aware, and it felt dreadful. Just all kinds of thick in the wrong spots.

That was the only Glock I've handled that I couldn't get on board with. To be fair, I didn't shoot it and that can change things sometimes, but the initial impression was yuck.

never owned a 29 but I’ve shot them and had a 30 for a bit, which is the same size. I wasn’t a huge fan of that frame size, it’s just feels like a brick in the compacts, even though the 20/21 feel fine to me.

If I was to get a smaller 10mm I would look at the M&P 2.0 or maybe even the new Sig Xten Comp.

I figured I'd get more feedback on the Glock 29 for concealed carry or even open carry 🤔
It’s just “wrong” enough that it doesn’t do much of anything better than the competition besides stop bears and moose.

I’ve got one just because, but I haven’t ever been in a situation where i thought it was the best carry pistol.

Even for open woods carry I’m probably going to use a G20 instead of the G29.

Maybe if I had a chest rig?

I have hands the size of a medium pizza, so the 29 fits me very well. I do carry a 29 from time to time with night sights and +2 mag extensions. I LOVE shooting that little imp!!

Thank you. I've been looking for quite a while for a longer barrel for my 29, but I've been finding them sold out. I'm also not too sure how much difference a .8" makes to velocity (3.7" stock vs. a 4.5" KKM [4.6 stock for G20]).
Ironically, my KKM Precision 4.5" came yesterday. I have no idea when I'll get to try it out.

I have a 29SF and love it. I also have a 20SF. I like to carry the G29 on the strong side around 3 o'clock in an OWB holster that rides close. I have an aliengear IWB that I do not use. It just doesn't work for me. Only way to know, is to try it out.

I have at least one 20, 29 and 40. A 29 was my first 10mm and I will cary it when my clothing permits. I am tall and skinny 6'1'' 163-168 pounds and its hard to conceal for me because of the thickness.

If I was to get a smaller 10mm I would look at the M&P 2.0 or maybe even the new Sig Xten Comp.
The ergos on BOTH those guns are so much nicer than the Glock in that caliber. And, as a Glock guy, that kinda hurts my soul. But Glock just made a G19 in .380....so ya know....they arent on the right track. LOL
