YouTube taking down gun channels?

This old new...YouTube is a private company, can do what it wants.
Actually, I believe YouTube is part of a publicly-traded conglomerate. Meaning they answer to shareholders.

Yes, but they still get to make their own rules.
As do the shareholders who can sell if they choose. If enough sell, it will become painful for any managers and staff that also own shares and/or options.

If they do, someone will start a service for gun folk. Because money. I'm old enough to remember when YouTube was this weird internet thing and not a fundamental part of everyone's day.

More broadly speaking, we need social media options for conservatives; i.e., free speech alternatives to:
  • Youtube
  • Facebook
  • Twitter (Gab is such an alternative; just need more traffic to move there)
If we keep playing on their turf, they can silence us whenever it suits them. From the left's perspective, what better time to tie up firearms/2A channels in red tape than when there is a push for gun control - it's a good way for them to disrupt our comms.

Do you honestly believe the shareholders give a crap about the YT gun channels as long as they keep raking in the big bucks?

Absolutely not. I believe their greatest concern is about the value of their shares and options...which are the consequence of how other investors feel about a company's future prospects. And, by the way, there are no big bucks raked in (or lost) until shares are sold.

I think all the firearms channels have been demonetized, they are not selling adds on them, so they make no money for the shareholders.

They aren’t taking them down just demonetizing them. There’s a fishing channel that I’m a fan of that they have demonetized because he also does some gun and hunting stuff.
This is more than demonetization - watch MAC's video that Silver linked to in the OP.

James Yeager is supposedly setting up a youtube like site for gun channels...supposed to launch next month last I heard but not sure how reliable the info is. I think it is called LiberTV or LibertyTV.

It will cost of shit ton of money for the servers, and bandwidth to set up, to run a private youtube style site. I hope it works!

MAC recently got banned from ARFCOM. And burned a lot of bridges as he went. Made me chuckle.

What happened? I like him but don't follow him too closely. I really only watch his Combloc stuff. Why'd he get the boot?

At Arfcom? Who knows, that place is ban happy and the mods are touchier than a teenage girl.

Looks like we've got a Youtube alternative for guns: https://www.full30.com/

I just signed up. Hopefully this takes off. And if it does, they could easily expand it to be more than just guns.

Conservatives need to find our own home online because the Left Coast tech companies have made it abundantly clear that we are, in their view, deplorables, whose views/voices should be muted.

Full30 is not open, they are very picky on who can join the channel.
