Hi everyone - my name is Rich and I'm checking in from behind enemy lines in CA, where I started True Manufacturing several years ago. Since then it's grown from very small to small. This entire company is just my wife and I. I design product and handle manufacturing and customer service while she fulfills orders and keeps the business running

Our product is a unique muzzle device that's half barrel shroud and half flash can (or blast can, or blast forwarder or whatever you want to call it). To my surprise this thing has become very popular and not surprisingly, North Carolina is one of my biggest markets - which is why I'm here trying to introduce more of you to it:

https://blackmooseqed.com/products/50-50-can

I'm working on version 2 of the device, which will have some additional features. For now, you can get version 1 (or anything else) for 15% off using code CFF15, any time. We also do automatic free shipping over $75.

I'm going to try to check in to post and answer questions in the mornings but with my day job plus two little kids and a 3rd on the way, life can get hectic so posting won't be one of my priorities.

Feel free to DM if you have product questions.

you're doing good things over there.
My wife just went back through LAX to visit a friend, and grew up on orange county, and says she may never go back to that place.
fingers crossed, because that means she won't be taking me with her either šŸ˜†

Thatā€™s cool!
Thanks for being a sponsor!

question - why is it a double ender?
flip it around and get more life? change the length slightly one way or the other?
does it get holes to pin/weld on a short barrel?

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the welcome. I'm sorry but for some reason the forum isn't allowing me to add links to the thread or to my bio. I emailed someone to try to get it taken care of.

Thank you for supporting us.

I made it two sided for two reasons:

1. So there would be a section BEHIND the threads that will cover any barrel between threads and handguard. This is a look people really like

2. The two halves are not equal length so this offers some installation versatility. You can have the 2" section forward or the 1.5" section - doesn't matter.

The product life should be infinite, at least on paper. Never know what people do with their rifles out in the wild :)

Is this your website? Or is this a reseller? nevermind...I got your ad to cycle through again and it takes me to the same site, so it must be you. šŸ˜Ž

Here are some details from the site for anybody interested:
(Theyā€™re also available in raw aluminum)

Features:
  • 6061-T6 aluminum
  • 4.25" overall length
  • 1.25" or 1.5" diameter
  • Weight: 2.8 oz - 3.5 oz
  • 1.5" of can on one side and 2" of can on the other
  • Available in 1/2-28 and 5/8-24 thread - custom thread sizes available here
  • Black Type III hardcoat anodized

Neat idea, Iā€™m digginā€™ it...

Doing the math, does that mean the threaded section is .75ā€ long?

Welcome from WNC,

Got any blems, or 80% lowers

Welcome, @TrueMFG , we're happy to have you with us. And, thank you for the CFF discount.

I've updated the original post with a link directly to the product. My bio will also have a link in it

The discount covered my shipping, plus 35Ā¢. Iā€™ll take it! šŸ˜

Thank you very much. Post pics once you get it installed
11.5ā€ 5.56 AR pistol. Has a slim handguard. Iā€™d been using a linear compensator on it:

Thereā€™s a little ridge inside the rail. Forward of that ridge, the ID is enough for the 5050. You can see part of the ridge here:

The 2ā€ side wouldnā€™t even contact the threads. The 1.5ā€ side would thread on but hit the ridge before contacting the shoulder. (I knew both of these things should be true based on measuring before ordering).

I wanted it to be fairly short, so I opted to run the 1.5ā€ side on the outside, and cut 1ā€ off the 2ā€ side.

My aluminum black may need to be replaced, as it didnā€™t have much effect...and itā€™s probably been open for 5+ years. Since nobody will ever really see the end thatā€™s tucked, I just hit it with the black grill paint I had handy.

It fills up the handguard fairly well...

Pleased with the product and the end result.

ETA: one more pic I forgot Iā€™d taken, which shows the muzzle inside the can...I guess thereā€™s potential to carbon up the exposed threads a little and it might be a little snug to install the opposite way if you wanted to.

Looking good. Any chance there's 1/2" x 36 threads in the future? Foxtrot Mike uses this thread pitch on all their uppers.

You can get one in 1/2-36 for a little more $$

That one won't fit under the handguard. 1.3" inner diameter in the handguard.
