I'll bet you're right. I told my wife I wanted to put some of my equipment in the vehicle and drive up to Roxboro to see if any shopkeepers wanted help. Did any of you people in western NC hear her response?Riots in 5 4 3 2......
Build it and they will come.so you're saying i need to build ANOTHER cheap AR pistol to put in the trunk of my car, along with the ones i have at each end of the house?
i'm running real short on barrels, guys...
Lol, I am not out west by any stretch but I did see several bright flashes and loud rumbles from your direction around that time...I'll bet you're right. wait, is that a good thing or a bad thing?Build it and they will come.
It depends. Do you want it to be a good thing?wait, is that a good thing or a bad thing?
The video is out....looks like a legit legal shoot to me. cop gets out tells him to drop the gun 2 times, guy points it up at home. cop fires a single round to the chest. Guy falls and is out. Gun is a sawed off shotgun.
The deceased’s father is now hiring if you will the Crump guy that was used in Trayvon martin, Mike Brown, and others. I am sure “peaceful” protests will ensue again
I’d assume an autocorrect issue with “guy points it up at him”.I haven't seen the video. What do you mean, "guy points it up at home"?
Thanks.

Watched it on the TV and you could see he raise that gun up twice. First time was kind of half heartedly and the second time is when they took them out.
Watch them say that since he didn't fire the first time he raised it proves he didn't intend to fire the second.
I can't find any fault in their actions.
A “vigil” just finished at Merritt Commons on S. Main St. It was maybe 50 or 60 people but it there were about a half dozen “outsiders” already starting “no justice no peace”. The head out of town instigator was a short fat woman who started in on they were “going to demand” the video ... problem is there was no body cam. Their “vigil” was 5 minutes about Mr Brooks and 25 minutes about what “we gonna do”. Roxboro and Person Co are now in the crosshairs ...
ETA ... they marched down and are now “protesting” outside the Courthouse and yelling about the Confederate statue in addition to Mr Brooks ... no LEO activity on site yet. The Sheriff and Chief are meeting to decide how to handle this.
how far is this from triangle? So tired of this garbage. I’m willing to arm up and protect businesses within 30 min radius.
Devil's advocate...
Was it an illegal shotgun? Why the call? Was he a known felon? Was he holding it or was it slung? Couldn't tell from the video.
* As far as illegal or not I don’t know, nor Do I know if his felon status has been stated. The officer from what I was told was called by a caller at the Dollar General that said the man was swinging the gun around In a threatening manner Or threatening folks I think At least it is what I was told.
NC is an open carry state. Possession of a firearm isn't justification for a stop or shooting a citizen. What did he do to bring about the interaction? Just a call from some Karen?
Yes, a call from a customer or worker at the DG
He had a second or two to process the order before being shot. His movement could very well have been him starting to drop the shotgun and when hit, he clutches it...
he could have but, as a Cop he only has a second to process what he sees. So, right or wrong he made a decision.
..
I've walked down a main street in Knightdale with a shotgun over my shoulder when my car broke down and I had to walk. Didn't want to leave it and had no way to hide it. Of course I'm white...
Fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter who or why the call was made the cops had to respond. They can't sit on their radio and decide whether the call was worthy of their presence without investigating.Devil's advocate...

Just food for thought...

Doesn't change the fact of the matter that having a gun isn't a crime...
I agree 100%, the biggest problem IMO with incidents discussing only "someone walking down the road with a gun" is this.
The litigious society we live in has caused agencies to be so fearful of lawsuits they've basically forbid comm centers from telling callers "that's not illegal" or "sir/ma'am they are doing nothing wrong, we don't send officers out for ______." Operators are taught to "just send them." If a weapon is involved you can hang it up, an officer will be sent. The entire industry has become so risk adverse its not even funny.
did you see the video? cause... that's not what happened.Even if that's the case, it's no excuse to go weapons hot on citizens from the start. The Karen making the call may not know, but the officer responding has no excuse...

I saw the video posted above. It's not great quality as far away as the suspect is. I saw a guy on the side of the road with something slung (assuming the shotgun) and a bag in his hand. Cop rolls up on him with his shotgun already out, and in the course of a couple of seconds, shouts twice to drop the gun, and when the guy grabs his shotgun (maybe to shoot, maybe to unsling it and drop it. We'll never know), shoots him...
