A 1971 Colt Python in nickel would be awesome!
I’ve had somewhat of a hard time finding one.
All I could come up with was a birth year cannon.Tried the metal detector/historic battleground approach yet old-timer?!
Why you....I oughta........I found @BatteryOaksBilly Birth Year gun and its under $500.

You know "need" has nothing to do with buying more guns.I don’t need a birth year gun.
I finally got around to asking Roy Jinks for the date of my K38. While I believed it’s a Combat Masterpiece, turns out it’s actually a Masterpiece, Pre-14. It shipped from Smith and Wesson a couple months before I was born.I have one from around the month I was conceived.
Suckah!While I believed it’s a Combat Masterpiece
Dude! That's the one!View attachment 242251
This one was made in 1880. Is it close? LOL!

Let’s find him a true unicorn...a Model 49 shipped in 1949.You mean a Model 49 or a model shipped in 1949?
That would be testing even my talents. The Reason I asked is the Model 49 was not introduced until 1959. If we can pull off the unicorn, the world would take noticeLet’s find him a true unicorn...a Model 49 shipped in 1949.

I can forge a S&W letter as good as the next guy. Actually have a forged one to go by. A soon as I find the gun, I'll start working on the proof that it might be a prototype that sat on the shelf for 10 years before releasing to the public. When I worked for the crazy eye-talian, we used to say, “The difficult we do immediately. The impossible takes a little longer”.
Don't have a birth year gun, but it caused me to do some research and I ran across Guns magazine from the year I was born. It's interesting to see what was going on.
