It is not the way you're driving it. I had one and 0-60 mini vans were leaving me till boost kicked.Have a 2021 model that I bought at the end of 2022. I really enjoy the car, which will out perform most cars on the road.
It may be the way I drive it, but it seems to accelerate a little slower in 1st and 2nd, but then will easily overtake in 3rd.
New enough that I haven't had repair issues, yet, but then again that is a good thing.
I have heard that earlier models had a head gasket issue, but supposedly that was addressed a few years ago.
Funny how that works, 1st gear is good to about 20-25 mph but then it takes a couple seconds to shift to second, which does better. For some reason, it really seems to kick it in 3rd gear, which you can push to about 75mph if you run to the higher RPM range. Interestingly 4th begins to be overdrive at a .96 gear ratio I believe it is. Still at higher speeds, e.g. 55 most cars can’t out accelerate you making it easy to get around or pass them.It is not the way you're driving it. Did you just make a case for a CFF country roads spirited cruise?Let’s just say on the way home, once I hit the country road this evening I probably averaged between 70 and 80 and in one good flat stretch had it up to 95 mph.

Absolutely stay away from the GR86/BRZ. Tons of engine failures on spirited driving. Thanks for responses.
Have an Outback I love but having a mid-life crises and thinking of something a little funner. Also looking at BRZ/GR86, miatas, and some others.
Here's my co workers. I was wrong it's a '21 sti

Yep that's what he just told meLast year if the STI.
Supposedly they’re also testing the market for a WRX with automatic transmissions. What’s the point?Last year if the STI.
They already did that in 2015Supposedly they’re also testing the market for a WRX with automatic transmissions. What’s the point?
I've had nothing but bad experience. They're cheaply made.Anybody here like Subaru WRX's?
Anyone have the new generation? What's your opinion on these cars? Generations? Etc.

2011 Forester. Motor went bad at 30k miles, they replaced it, went bad again at 90k. Garbage. 2016 outback, rear end make whine, no resolution from Subaru. Seat switch broken, so belt alarm goes off. I would rather walk,.Bummer! What year you have?
More women and soy boy owners = more profit for SubaruSupposedly they’re also testing the market for a WRX with automatic transmissions. What’s the point?
The biggest down side is that the WRX ad STI are the most expensive cars to insure relative to the car value. They hold the record for % that are totaled in crashes.
🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
What a way to kill the carThe new WRX GT, the top of the line, is only available with an CVT automatic!
There was a time when admitting to speeding on public roads was frowned on here. 🙂Let’s just say on the way home, once I hit the country road this evening I probably averaged between 70 and 80 and in one good flat stretch had it up to 95 mph. It will go, in 6th gear from 60 to 70 in 4 seconds and 70 to 80 in 2 seconds (closer to max power at 5250 rpm).
