The street price on these is sitting around $560 - and 5.7 ammo isn't disgusting at the moment. (<50cpr)
Figured it would be a good range toy, especially being able run a 22 can. If it proves reliable, I'd also move it to HD duty.
Not overly concerned with all the hype around armor pen, but have seen/heard good things about the round losing steam through drywall and construction materials.
The rotating barrel and a 22rd capacity is also a huge upside IMO.
Setting aside that it's a somewhat niche round (hopefully that changes since the number of 5.7 offerings has quintupled in the last 18 months) - my biggest concern is reliability.
There are quite a few reports of mag issues, but those seemed to have cooled off in the last few months. Did Smith make any changes that resolved that?
Also brings up, S&W customer service seems to be lacking compared to some other manufacturers. (Specifically, Ruger - since they've got the 5.7.)
The PSA Rock is a non-starter, since QA seems to be on par with a 90s era Kia.
So, am I nuts for wanting a meme caliber with an unproven (at least by S&W) action?
