That took a lot of effort, who put it in the top of that tree?
I have seen a 300SL up close undergoing restoration with the body off; the engineering and design are stunning. If I had the money, one of these would be on the very short list. The Estrella warbird museum also has an amazing car collection! Here are a just a few photos. Really amazing place.

A long time ago, our company’s Northern California rep did a full restore of a 1955. I was with him for a day of sales calls and we rode around his territory in that iconic car. It was an amazing day for writing orders. 😂I have seen a 300SL up close undergoing restoration with the body off; the engineering and design are stunning. Worster than the Vette?View attachment 759941
I had the misfortune of working on an Avanti some years back in my Bodyshop days.. it was the biggest fiberglass turd ever produced.
Yes.Worster than the Vette?
The Avanti’s were a cool idea. Essentially taking a Vette, making it a four door sedan and supercharging it. They attempted something like a Maserati. I used to restore 60’s Vettes, I’ve never worked in an Avantu.Yes.
The Vette got better. And as you can see, the Avanti is no more.

Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.
OK, so not a picture but you folks will like it anyway. Fighter jet fly over while hiking today. I was setting up to get a shot of Lost Cove cliffs. I thought there was a big gust of wind coming, then I heard it start to whine, the roar. It was banking hard left coming through the gap west of Bee Mountain and I'm pretty sure I saw the canopy for a second. Then it went west of Lost Cove Cliffs before turning east and running Linville Gorge. The wing man came directly over us and I didn't get a shot of that. By the time I let it quite down, got my video, then tried to check flight paths I found a pair of planes over freaking Johns River Gamelands! That's Newland to Jonas Ridge, down Linville Gorge, over Lake James, cross just west of Morganton and they were over Drexel by the time I found two flying in formation with no call signs. That's moving!
Until I zoomed in on the picture, I thought it was wearing pants
