They are very good but a little too metal for my taste.

Yeah, a lot of people feel that way, but sometimes I like a little metal with my prog. Ever listen to Riverside?

Great musician and band! Saw them at the Carolina Theater in Durham a few years ago, then ran into Victor Wooten in the airport in Minneapolis. My kind of stuff.

I have seen them several times there, and Victor Wooten once. If you like awesome bass playing, check out SMV's "Thunder" album. Because 3 virtuoso bassists are better than one!
