So who would be interested in meeting up for a mountain bike run some time in the near future? We had originally talked about going to North Mecklenburg Park but Sherman's Branch would probably be a better choice because:
1) Sherman's Branch is right off of I-485. It's easy to get to from anywhere, like Tripoli or Beijing
2) North Meck is a jerk that will beat you up and steal your lunch money. Sherman's Branch is a pal that will help you install a new carburetor and offer to mow your lawn while you're out of town.
3) When I crash and break several bones, the access road running through the middle of Sherman's Branch will allow you to drag my body out quickly. Please don't leave me lying in the ditch.
If you are a rider that has skill and endurance you are awesome and will leave us in the dust because we have neither. It takes us about an hour to run the main loop, which is just under eight miles long. If my math is correct, that means we average about 620 mph.
This weekend is looking bad but how about next weekend, weather permitting?
