Anyone know where i can ger bulk beef jerky for a good price?
I can get costco brand jerky for $1 an oz. So ideally id like cheaper than that.
$8 per pound beef does not translate into $8 per pound (50 cents per ounce) jerky. Given that dehydration into jerky normally reduces the net weight by 50 to 67%, you’d be lucky to have your finished jerky ONLY cost you $1 per net ounce.
Alton Brown’s recipe indicates that 24 to 32 ounces of meat will produce ONLY 10 to 12 ounces of jerky.
