One of, if not the best breed you will have as a family dog. The GSD we have is my wife's protector. If he doesn't know you he will wake up the dead making sure we know something is up. Loves kids.New addition. My lab, Sam, passed away 2 days after my wife gave birth to our first born; 2 days before Christmas. It’s been hard on my wife and even though I know she wasn’t quite ready, we couldn’t turn this guy down. Jack, 7-8 month months old (I’ll know when I get the paperwork). Got him all moved in and introduced today. Long story short, my 19 yr old brother realized that he’s not going to prioritize a dog. My first GSD. He seems to be very smart. Hoping him and my little girl form a good bond. She is 9 months now and they should have a good run together.

He’s like “LOOK! They’re gone”View attachment 162784 Fat boy.
It's more like "Say hello to my little warch"He’s like “LOOK! They’re gone”
Nope! That is the International Sign that it is time for a Tummy Rub! Now go rub that plump goofy boy's belly! It's more like "Say hello to my little warch"
That’s rough, glad she is doing better! No pictures at the moment, but I get to bring my "Tillie" home from the hospital today Yea. Long story short she and her brother "Auggie" had a run in with what we assume was a copperhead Sunday evening. Auggie had swelling and some discomfort, she faired much worse and has been in critical care at CVS in Greensboro since Sunday night. She made the turn and started to improve Thursday morn so they are releasing her this afternoon.
Swelling has decreased considerably and platelet count is almost normal, all blood counts look almost normal. She was transitioned to oral meds, biggest problem now is she doesn't want to eat, but we can get her through that. Praise the Lord.

My old boy Roscoe. Hound/Great Dane mix. Probably the most gentle loving dog I have ever had. Always has to be beside me.
For sure. There are sometimes I have to take a dozen photos just to get one where I can see her face well enough. If that black dog closed its eyes you couldn’t see its face!

One of my "Grand" pups was here for a visit over the weekend. Apparently she finds Grammie's chair and pillow quite comfortable.
