So I decided to go one more time to finalize my take on this. Happened to be passing by a Popeye's as they were opening today and knew it was a good chance to grab a bite while I was on the go today. So I went in. Saw that at opening they already have a hundred sandwiches made and ready to sell. Not interested in any of these... So to the girl's chagrin, I ordered a spicy sandwich and a regular sandwich, both without pickle. They made me up two fresh sandwiches and I got fries fresh out of the fryer too and an unsweet tea. When I got in the truck I removed them both from the foil bags so they wouldn't steam. Ate a few fries(good being fresh but still not great fries) and started in on a sammich...
Damn that's a good sandwich. Especially the spicy sandwich... Both are far superior to Chick-Fil-A. The key is freshness. Get it super fresh and it's spectacular. It seems to be a short window though.
That's where Popeye's falls short. Crap organization. They're the Cleveland Browns of take out. Well maybe not that bad. Let's say they're the Houston Texans. They can get the win, but the talent is down the road in Dallas. Chick-Fil-A can run you through a full parking lot in 5mins with piping hot fresh food and a smile. Popeye's does it in 10-15mins with a smirk and a frown even when they're slow.
