Bill and Ken said if they had to pick a gun off the shelf, load it, put it into their holster and trust it for self defense without first shooting it, they would pick the Beretta 92:

Bill's men worked on mine. Single action trigger is 3#. Double action is a touch under 6#. Everything about it is slick as snot on wet ice.

Bill doesn't work on a lot of Glocks or M&Ps so I guess that recommendation makes sense.

Bill's crew works on Glocks? They have also started working on Sig P320s. Bill is a good marketer and good at creating and knowing where the market is going.

I think it's due to it having the most reliable feed system available on a pistol. It's got it's quirks, but they feed better than anything else.

Yep, it's almost a straight line from the magazine into the chamber.

I think if they made one without a safety/decocker I could get into it again.

If you find a DAO model and then install the DA/SA fcg in it, you have a Berreta 92 (or 96) with a DA/SA trigger and no safety or decocker. On occasion one can find some surprisingly good deals on old DAO former police guns aswell.

Caleb Giddings is a big Beretta guy that works in gun media. Also a big revolver guy. He has a Beretta 92D that received the full Langdon Tactical Technologies treatment, which is a configuration that may be seeing more production in the future.

I've got a file... how much you willing to pay?
Funny you say that, I have a CZ with a thumb safety that may meet the dremel.

I think that is going to be out of my pricerange if Langdon is involved but I'll check that out.

They do. 92X Performance model has the safety on the frame.
My Wilson Brig Tac has a G slide that kills the safety so it can't deactivate the gun if it gets bumped on by mistake.

The 92s run; they just beat themselves to death on the locking block if you run a crapload of rounds thru them. Most if not all of the M9/92s in USASOC were deadlined for that issue. I like the guns ( used them for years in USMC and USA), I just think they're a too large frame gun for a 9mm. Tried a 96, just didn't run as perfectly as a 92 and mags were a pain to find. Just my .02.

The new locking blocks are durable, and it’s a relatively inexpensive part to change out every 20-25K rounds.

I bought a 92 a long time ago and decide it wasnt for me. Too big, heavy, clunky, terrible trigger and not accurate enough (at that time) for IPSC. I shot 1911 based guns for 15 years in IPSC/USPSA. A friend of a friend was moving to Hawaii and was selling all his guns, motorcycles and boats. I bought his 92. It had exactly 1000rnds thru it. He gave me every piece of fired brass and 1000 rnds of factory ammo to boot for a ridiculously low price just to get ride of it all. I shot maybe 2 mags full and immediately remembered why I sold the first one. I had that one sold in a week. I think BW's statement is ridiculous on face value. He has decades of experience with the gun. Now if he is saying to all the folks who are not of the gun and are asking his opinion on what to buy right now in the age of the Kung Flu and BLM, then maybe. Its better than a ton of other guns out there and with the bonus feature that if you run out of ammo, you can beat someone to death with it.

I carried the 92 for years both on Active duty and at home. Concealed carry gun for a long time and was pleased with it. I currently have 3, 2 92FS and an M9. Still love them but have sold out to the Dark Side and carry Glocks now.

Hhhhmmmm.... a red dot equipped 92 sounds AWESOME.
Now if only m93R's were available...

And now Im sad.

I honestly, perhaps ignorantly, thought I was done buying pistols. Nope. Must have a LTT with a dot. It's my new obsession.
