Grand daughter's jeep: once in while like every couple of weeks when she stops the vehicle the brakes remain locked up, last time they released after about 20 min. Today they released again after about the same time but then they locked up again. I don't think it's the notorious Jeep rubber brake line problem. Most likely ABS I think. I turned off the Hill assist thing.

They seem ok, just put on new brakes within the last 90 days and 1 new caliper.
For sure the front but I think all 4.
When they “lock” up. Jack up each wheel and see which one(s) is holding.

Phenolic pistons are notorious after some age for sticking when hot. Cool down and work

Take it from her, give her your car.

What are you doing letting your granddaughter ride around in an unsafe car?
She bought the durn thing, wouldn't let anyone help out [taking NO advice]. She already wrecked 2 of MY cars.Give her MY car? Are you HIGH?

Yeap. dang near all the manufacturers do nowadays
OK so we're not sure this will remedy the problem. But It hasn't been happening consistently. It's been about 4 weeks since the last time. Wouldn't it happen more often? Outside temp is pretty cool this morning. It was maybe 30 deg. warmer last time it happened.

Drive it around for while. Say 30 minutes or so. In town driving so the brake system gets hot. The see which wheel “drags” or holds when hand spinning the wheels, off the ground.

I was just told it was the front's that were locked up this time. thr rear were spinning. I guess this was secret information unitl now.

Both fronts? Are you sure it's the brakes? Maybe some weird problem with the front diff (assuming 4wd)?

Brake calipers. Common issues
Yup.
Piston got sick on my Nissan Frontier.
Easy fix. Totally a DIY.
CALIPERS aren't that expensive. ~$60.
Best to replace both Calipers, the pads, and the rotors at the same time.
Costs less than having a mechanic replace the calipers, pads, and turn the rotors.

It’s a Jeep Liberty, don’t fix it. As soon as you do fix it something else is gonna go wrong, better to just keep the problem you have since the next could be worse.
