Detectives with the police department’s gang unit conducted the traffic stop just after 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Cliffdale and Rim roads. Police said the reason was equipment violations.

Seems I remember some cities are wanting police to stop making this kinda stop. If they stop equipment stops, maybe they’ll get shot at less. 🤪

I ain't goin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So glad my middle and oldest are no longer there . Last time I was there there was a funeral going
on with a gold coffin. Got stopped as it went by and looked at the police officer standing there and said.
" You can put a turd in a gold box but its still just a turd." Made the officers day , he finally smiled.

"Equipment violations" my butt. That said, there's a lesson in those pics - and not what some allude to.

Detectives (not patrol officers) with the gang unit find/make a reason to stop a car - reasonable to conclude they suspect gang members doing gang stuff.

Occupants flee.

One suspect goes up to a residential door and and rings the bell.

THAT is the lesson! Don't open your door to strangers. Appearances be damned.

It was the gang unit making the stop. They were just using the equipment stop for the reason to stop some gangbangers. I'd bet that they were looking for bangers with outstanding warrants.

I used to go through there quite often going from Graham to Wilmington. I spent 9 weeks there on the summer of 1972. I have not been back since and have no desire ever to return.
