Federal Automatch has the benefit of being relatively inexpensive and of being very available.
And, that would be it, in terms of benefits.
I do have several 22 firearms that run these OK and I have a 325 round box here someplace that I got at Walmart because the clerk with the key just happened to be there.
Not a good reason, I know.
The comment about Mini Mags is a good one.
Regarding 'tuning' ... the 10/22 is off-the-chart in terms of stuff you can 'do' to it. Probably a good idea to wait and see if a simple ammo change fixes your reliability issue.
Just went through a lot of similar 10/22 issues with another forum member the other day, and we resolved all his challenges in about 90 minutes of diligent sleuthing. Some ammo related, some magazine related, some cleaning related. Since the symptoms present similarly for different anomalies, it's hard to know what change affected what fix. This is an experience thing I guess I picked up over the past several years which I did not ask for and don't really want. Hope you don't have to do all that, too. But when the rifle is playing well, it's delightful.
