1911 Syndicate posted a video about a month ago reviewing the Sig Sauer p365 Spectre Comp.

The Best EDC Gun Ever …. Allegedly

They claimed it was loaned to them by a viewer.
Being a follower of their channel I offered to send them my SFX9 as I’ve shot the p365 Spectre Comp and it’s not the “best ever”.

Their excuse was “nah we need to make money. So we need Wilson Combat to send us one. “

Liars, so broke they can’t afford shipping, or think I’m a Fed?

YOU be the judge.

That they got the gun from Sig and got paid for a review?

I’m not saying they lied, I’m asking what people think. Based on their answer to me offering a pistol to test and what they said in the video about it being a loaner.

I don’t get that from the conversation at all. You asked if they wanted you to loan them a Wilson. They said no, that they would mostly like hit up Wilson. And that they have to make each video worthwhile. They never mentioned getting it from Sig or getting paid by Sig.

Clearly you’re just here to shit on the thread. What difference is a loaner from a follower and a loaner from Wilson? When they claim to review loaners from followers? And the question stands: do they get money from companies who send them loaners to give favorable reviews?

I’m not here to dump on your thread. Just trying to understand what you are asking. And giving my opinion of the conversation you posted. As for the question that you state still stands. I would bet they, like many others, get some type of benefit from manufactures for reviewing their products. But from your conversation with them, I cannot come to an opinion that they are liars, poors, or think you’re a fed. Again just my opinion not trying to troll or dump on you and your thread.

The SFX9 is not a 1911.
Just sayin’

Why would any channel owner want to go to the trouble of borrowing something from a random a-hole on the internet when they can get it easily enough from a trusted source? Don’t you see the risks associated with that?

Your image needs more red marker.

Sigs are very popular right now, it will get views, views equal money.

Less popular guns, less views, less money, unless manufacturer pays for what is most likely to be an ad not a review.

You can count on anyone creating content with even marginal production quality is trying to make money at it, not make honest reviews, not just keep the channel going, they wanna quit their day job and have all sorts of sponsorship money and product rained on them. Modern American dream.

Yes, these channels get product, swag, ammo, and sometimes cash from companies for doing reviews of their products. I don’t see an issue with the convo posted.

I’ve seen even small channels with under 1k subs get free product to review.

I'm not sure if you're really upset...or if you are, what you're upset about.

You asked, they said "no", and gave a brief explanation as to why. Seemed pretty straight forward to me.

And, for my unsolicited and inexperienced opinion on the dynamics of how a site like that one makes money, it would seem to me that there are viable market concerns with obtaining firearms from actual companies to conduct reviews of as opposed to firearms from members. The ration of company to site members would necessarily seem to be skewed more towards the companies.

I'd imagine they're just hoping to get a freebie from Wilson that they can either keep or turn around and sell. I wouldn't necessarily rush to the 'liars' claim.

Besides, even if they were liars, they're YouTubers and that should basically be expected 🤣.

Calm down you hating ass fools. You are making way too much of this. They do get money from them. They have been demonetized by YouTube.

Wanna move this to the basement and leave your screenshot with an fbomb in it, delete the screenshot with the fbomb, or get a timeout for breaking the rules?

I would think liability would be high on random loaned guns as well. It gets scratched/broken, or comes scratched/broken and you claim they did it and now they have to deal with random person's ire.

Plus who's to say you didn't kustom it up yourself and they waste time trying to review a gun that doesn't run right but has some amazing aftermarket parts in it that only work when the moon is full and the primers are soft?

Wilson sends them an eval and it's going to work and they're not going to get grief from Wilson if the gun is returned in 'used' condition.

I doubt they think you're a fed, that's for sure.

Jayne beat me to the punch. ^^^ These were my thoughts as well.

The liability of trying out an unknown "loaner" gun from and unknown person far outweighs any potential benefit - especially when they could get one for free from Wilson w/o any liability.

And let's say that your loaner gun runs poorly, and so they write a bad review? Wilson comes back - hey - that's not our fault that someone else's gun ran poorly and now we're dinged for it - so we're going to sue both of you for defamation.

There is no upside that I can see for the reviewers to take you up on your offer.

Dude!

Given a choice, I would prefer to establish a relationship with a major company and the perks that brings, whether I positively review their product or not. And as mentioned, liability is an issue.
