My first was Ozzfest 1998 in Pittsburgh PA.

Went 10 years straight, along with countless other concerts (perks of a having a friend who worked in promotions for the PNC Pavilion).

Next concert will be Korn, been a long time since I’ve seen them live.

First was Iron Maiden, in 1988. I was 14, and talk about a hell of a show for your first. Saw Metallica about 3 months later for the ......Justice tour. Killer year for me.

In 2004 I got a free ticket to a Dave Matthew's Band concert. That's the first time I saw a girl flash boobs in public.

In about 2012 I saw Fleetwood Mac with my wife.

And, in a couple weeks, we are going to see Elton John in Greensboro.

I've never been to any other concerts...

First REAL concert was Van Halen w/ Boston at Carter Finley in ‘79 which was not that great … Van Halen in concert kinda sucked. The best was also Carter Finley for Pink Floyd in ‘88 … the big Pink Pig!

First was Van Halen at Columbia Coliseum in 92 on the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour. Haven’t been to many concerts, really. Dave Matthews, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Buffet, Bruce Hornsby most recently a couple years ago. Charlie Daniels and Hornsby are the only two I’ve ever seen sober and I don’t recall much from the others. Jimmy Buffet is a great concert.

August 1966

1st real concert was Anthrax on the Persistence of Time tour. They were opening for Iron Maiden at the Montreal Forum. I had little to no interest in Maiden, just Anthrax. This was winter of I guess 90/91.

I still like live music but my tastes have changed pretty considerably...last show was Dailey and Vincent at the Earle Theater in Mount Airy last month. I think it's the 4th time we've seen them.

Poison and the Bullet Boys and MAYBE Warrant was there too?
Circa 1989.
I was 6 or 7.
Gosh my parents have always been great about supporting my love for live music.

I actually had forgotten the first one. 1976...I was 7 y/o when Mom and Pops took me to a “show” 1/2 mile from our house. The Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, Heart, and a slew more. I think only one person died that day. It was a mess.

Van Halen at the Greensboro coliseum in July 1982.

Haven’t thought about it for a while.
My Mom took me to see Willie Nelson w Julio Iglesias at the old Crown Arena in Fayetteville.
I wasn’t more than 9. Good times.

Genesis.
Mid 80s at RFK stadium.
Got to sell tshirts before concert and our payment was tickets to get in.
Although my mom did go see Sonny and Cher when she was pregnant with me....does that count?

I’ve never been to a concert. I walked about a half mile to clear a Toby Keith concert in Kandahar. I don’t do crowds.

Lynyrd Skynrd, I think it was 1975, at the old Charlotte Coliseum.
Craziest fun fact about that place. When it opened (1955, I think…but I’m not gonna go look it up) it was the largest domed stadium in the US. I think it was US and not world. Seats <15K, so a lot of colleges and even some high schools have places bigger than that now. You drive past it now and just say meh.

I learned that from the wrapper the used to use on pretzels. It was a reprint of the article talking about the opening, when Billy Graham was there to speak.
