2.5" Shotgun shells locally??

Check Academy if you have one near by. I was just in the store close to my office (Apex store) and they had shorty shells

Other than it being marked on the barrel near the chamber that would be a question for @Bailey Boat. I've never seen 2.5" shells...
There are a few companies making them. Even make 2”. Then there are shorty shells like Aguila. $13.00 a box of 25 while 12 gauge 2.75” are as cheap as $5.

By the way I will also need a volunteer to take the first ten shots.

Measure the chamber.... What gun are we talking about here?? A decent gunsmith can lengthen the chambers for not all that much cash...
It would be safer if the chambers were lengthened so someone doesn't put a 2 3/4" shell in and then fire...

Here's the tip of the week, a 3" shell will FIT and FIRE in a 2 3/4" chamber, it may come unglued or it may not. Measure a FIRED 2 3/4" shell and then measure an UNFIRED 3" shell.... surprise!!!

The gun is a hammer W Richards and Co made in Belgium (copy of William Richards of England). I have never found good solid info on maker other than they copied the well known English gun before trademark laws. There are no markings or other stamps on the receiver or barrel. I’m guessing mid to late 1800’s.

The gun locks up tight but it could be laminated steel. A member here has shot the gun and even hunted with it a couple times he said but only with dove loads.
