.22 Ammo Tests With Ruger Precision Rimfire-Donnie D

Nice!

What distance? Optic?

I had my new-to-me Ruger PR 22 out yesterday first at 50 to get scope on paper, then 100 for zero and then was hitting a 4” diamond shaped piece of hanging steel at 200 yards with CCI Std Vel no problems. Same with some Norma TAC 22. Scope was a Bushnell MatchPro 6 - 24 and I am already itching to go back with a proper rest (I was using bead filled soft bags … less than ideal is putting it mildly!

Once I got over to 200 yards, instead of dialing away from my 100 yard zero I simply used the reticle hashes to “hold over”. Interestingly, even though my windage was right on at 100, at 200 both ammos were shooting to the right …

It just worked out perfectly that I wound literally using the numerals circled in blue and green innattached screen shot as my center aim point!

Blue (“7”) was the CCI Std Vel and the green (“6”) was the tad hotter Norma TAC 22 …

Next trip I’m going for empty shotgun shells at 200!

Nice, I've got to get my rifle out of the back of the safe and mount my scope, Bought it when it first came out. Shame on me.

Distance for this target was 50 yards, with a Sniper 6-24x50. I just changed the scope to an Armstrong 4-16x24. Liking it so far. As far as shooting skills, I think you got me whuuuuped.
