Has anyone seen these 22 extended long range ammo yet? Looks good, 22 load with real copper or ballistic tip bullets. Clams of 500 yard shots and even up to 850...

Folks been chootin' 22lr that far for a while... I haven't done it, but I have a Quigley Wannabe rifle for when I get the chance, a Henry Frontier Long Barrel with Soule type ladder sight.

CZfool68, I can't find anything on the ammo, either... only the matches.

I've been calling them "22 Long Range" for a while when in mixed company... Just to give the libs within earshot something else to froth over.

a copper bullet of the same size will be lighter than lead, and a ballistic tip won't expand at 1100fps so.......I surely hope this is aprils fools.

this ammunition just killed 22lr precision rifle for most.

The point of 22lr is its cheaper and trains very well out to 300yds.

77 .223 from Blackhills is cheaper then this spec 22lr PR ammo

The interviewer and the company's representative make me fear for the future of the firearms industry. Wow. They instill confidence. o_O

The project is too early to release. Nothing firm and no real meat to it. Typical hype fest.

Didn’t the reporter ask about reloading the round? A rimfire?

And the comment about not wanting to spend time reloading and just buy commercial ammo and go shoot. Sounded like 2 people from Mom’s Demand Action talking guns.

22 ELR is just extreme long range shooting with 22LR. Souped up rifles, souped up glass, and a penchant to get a little bitty boolit to punch paper at 500+ yards. Not sure what the longest 22LR shot ever made is, but the people who do 22 ELR are probably chasing the record.

Bullet length will be the killer for the everyday .22lr rifle. Present day .22 magnum rimfires use a pointed bullet and are not setting the woods on fire with long range usage and I don't see the long rifle cartridge doing any better.

Hell, I've shot 40gn standard velocity 22LR out to 500 yards. Most of the fun of shooting 22LR at long range comes from the fact that you are doing it with .22LR. Aside from the novelty of it, I am not sure what would be the allure of such specialized 22 ELR ammo.
