I was reading a few articles on the 22 Creedmoor, which peaked my interest. With that said, I was curious if anyone here may have a rifle chambered in 22CM or that has shot one, that could share their thoughts / experiences?
Only a slight difference in the two! lolI'm a little sad this isn't a thread about 220mm rifles.
There was a high level PRS competitor that was testing one out up at FLD a year or so ago. It was a calm day, and he was getting sub 2" groups pretty regularly at 900 yards. IIRC, he said the barrel life expectancy would be VERY short - about 600-800 rounds max. And the muzzle velocity exceeded competition maximums by a wide margin - I think he was somewhere near and maybe even above 3500fps. I am not sure how well it'd hold up in bad conditions at longer ranges - or maybe it'd shine in the wind - I didn't ask. But on a clear, calm day, the results were pretty impressive. That being said, I watched Paul drop a 5 round, 4.5" group at 1000 using a "lowly" .308, so I don't know if that particular arrow is really that much better than the Indian.I was reading a few articles on the 22 Creedmoor, which peaked my interest. 2” groups @ 900yrds is impressive for sure… but as you mentioned, the barrel burn out was one of my main worries, coupled with ammo / ammo component availability. May just stick need to stick with 22-250.There was a high level PRS competitor that was testing one out up at FLD a year or so ago. I am just going by what I saw and what he said - and a lot of that was probably stuff he was told by somebody else. I do not have personal experience with the round. But he was getting impressive accuracy, that is for sure.2” groups @ 900yrds is impressive for sure… but as you mentioned, the barrel burn out was one of my main worries, coupled with ammo / ammo component availability.
