Ive been seeing and hearing this more and more. As violence hits closer to home, those who are otherwise 2A indifferent, or fence sitters, take a step to the 2A side by deciding they need the ability and tools to defend themselves if the violence comes to their front door.
Last night a HS acquaintance from NJ watched & live streamed from his Center City (aka downtown) Philly apartment as rioters broke into, looted, and began destroying a Dunkin Donuts immediately across the street. The police did arrive to secure that intersection but it was over 20min.
They broke the windows with bats and a shopping cart. A couple cars pulled up to load stuff up then took off. A man could be seen carrying a ~60” TV down the street, cord dragging almost as badly as his pants.
This was his post from last night.
To my surprise, the overwhelming majority of comments were supportive, with no dissenters, only a few including his mom being neutral.
I simply reminded him to be sure to go to the range regularly to practice, and I think this is one of the best things to do for new gun owners.
Have you guys been seeing some of the same?
