.30 ammo can for secure storage?

Considering converting a .30 ammo can into a lockable, securable box for items left in vehicle while unattended... Can will be secured and hidden inside vehicle.

Anyone do this? Pics? Suggestions? I have some ideas, but looking for your input on lock suggestions, reinforcement, etc.

I can work metal pretty well with solid welding and custom fab skills.

Both. The can won't be bolted in. It'll be secured using a cable and Master lock.

I just asked because the Ranger I bought used a couple of years ago had a Stack-On safe already installed, and it has been mighty handy.

I built an overhead rack for the safe in my TJ, but no way to do this in my JK.
