Whats a better option? Savage Axis build or a Ruger American?

Wanting it for a hunting gun, will be ran suppressed all the time.
 
Ruger American. I run mine with an Innovative Arms 7.62 Deception. Shoots great, super accurate. This is on Remington factory subsonics. Will have a load worked up as soon as I cast a few bullets.
 
300blk is nice for the AR platform, but for a suppressed bolt gun does it have any advantages over a .308? Yes you'll have to roll your own, but I assume you will anyway.
 
I have hunyed the last two years with the Ruger American in 300BO running a Surefire Socom. Really like it.

If you have 308, just go with 308. If you have 300, go with 300. Similar characteristics really. I have a 300 AR and single shot so I would go with 300 bolt. Had a similar conversation at the range today. For reloading, 300 might be easier with the smaller case size. Maybe.
