I'm having issues with the bottom three rounds not feeding up into the mag on my rifle. It just a deer rifle and so far, both deer this year have fallen on their face after the first shot, but I was left unable to make a follow up if necessary. I've been reading this seems to be a common problem, but not seeing many solutions other the buying another mag and hoping the problem corrects itself. Anyone else having this issue, are there any other options to correct it? Any aftermarket mags or stocks?

If it takes the rotary mag, call Ruger and give them the serial number. They should be able to send you the bottom plastic for it to take aics mags. Its around $25 I believe

Funny thing, I saw an aics adaptor with no mag, go for over $100 on eBay the other day. I bout fell on the floor

I mean I wouldn’t give that for a whole stock, let alone just the adaptor. I need to call and get one for my .223 predator. It shoots 80grs really good but they are too long for the ar mag.

@scmoose

If I’m not mistaken the predator 308 model uses AICS pattern magazine. However they also made models that use factory Ruger rotary mags. The cheapest fix is likely to call Ruger and let them replace the magazine. Another option is to just get another mag. Magpul makes AICS mags that have worked just fine for me, assuming you have the AICS compatible model. Could also request the adapter for AICS mags as @DS1911 suggests, although would confirm w Ruger the bolts are compatible as the STANAG style mag ruger American rifles use a different bolt.

the older style flush fit mag for the American 223 will accommodate longer COAL than stanag magazine. I owned an early production Ruger ranch 5.56 and stupidly sold it off to get one that runs STANAG mags. The rotary mags were actually great in my experience but I didn’t really think it through before selling!
