Pulling some 454 Casull Ammo down that is in FA boxes with FA brass. Assuming reloads for sure that is why I am pulling them. Any help with ID on the bullets would be appreciated. L to R in the picture 320 gr, 300 gr, and 265 gr. Thanks

No idea but as long as they all weigh the same when you reload no worries. Have a 2.5” Ruger super Alaskan and absolutely love it. And the fact you can shoot 45 Colt is a great bonus.

Interesting striations. At first I thought they were rifling marks .

Thinking about that, those grooves might inhibit a good gas seal.

Some of those look awful beat up. I believe I would just buy some new bullets and proceed. Get some coated lead in 255 gr. Very reasonable and you will get consistent velocity and accuracy.

I use LBT gas-checked heavies in my Casull. The Casull is a lead generating machine unless you keep the velocities and pressure down. Even when you use heavy jacketed bullets, probably want to make sure the bullet is made for the Casull. Hornady makes two different .454 bullets, one for the Casull and the regular thin jacket bullet for the Colt.

I’ve run into the same thing with 460 magnum. The bullets have to be rated for the high pressure, up to 65k psi.

I have ran about 1500 250grain hardcast molycoated bullets from precision bullets in tx through my raging bull 454. I chronographed some at 1900+fps. No real leading problems yet. Very accurate but, a stout load of H110.
