Where do most of you get your 45acp 230gr from (website or local to Winston-Salem)? I'm looking for plated FMJ RN or FN all for range shooting.

Reactions: Me.
RoZe Distribution (Zero Bullets) for match quality jacketed projectiles.

I have loaded quite a few Berry’s bullets (plated RN) for plinking. They don’t perform well at long range but they make for inexpensive practice ammo that uses slightly less powder per load than jacketed.

Roze hasnt had Zero 230gr ball in stock in quite a while. Unfortunate because their 230gr ball bullet is the closest in specs to Federal Gold Medal Match which is basically Unobtainium. I bought bulk Hornady from various sources. Red River Reloading in TX. No tax. Their website appears to be hosed up right now.

Zero bullets definitely for the match stuff
185gr JHP / 4.1gr N310 / CCI-300 / WCC or Federal brass... only difference between the above and the Army match loads is they use Nosler 185's and the brass

Berry's plated, dont really shoot a lot of them but...

RMR ..bullets are the load n go ones.

Shoot more lead powder coated bullets than anything else, 200gr SWC H&G 68 style, 230gr RN. Have 3 sources for them, myself, and 2 other guys I've been buying from a while

I've shot a lot of Xtreme plated bullets, mostly the 200gn RN. I also bought some from RMR, but they have not been carrying the plated bullets for a while now. They are gearing up to produce their own FMJ 45s in house, and if they are anything like their 9mm FMJ 115 RN they will be awesome.

Other places I would look for plated bullets are American Reloading and Everglades.

For coated bullets, I hear the Blue Bullets are awesome, lots of guys shoot them, but I have not tried any yet. I have shot some of the Hitek coated bullets from Bayou, and have had really good luck with them in 30 carbine. I have not shot very many of them in 45acp, though, but they did very well the few that I did shoot.

Blue Bullets are great. Would rate them rather highly. Shoot / shot them from various 1911's and others work great and accurate.

Bayou Hitek are good also.

American reloading is the place I hit up for all kinds of "projectiles "

lead or coated lead from snscasting or king shooters supply
plated from xtreme
hornady HAP when you find them on clearance/overrun etc (midway)

I've done 9 and 223 from rmr, haven't tried 45 from them

I advise round nose profile for plated. Flat point/truncated cone and semiwadcutters in plated xtreme seem to hit and jam out of battery for me. SNS or King Shooters hard lead hits and slides and chambers without issue.

RMR, American Reloading, or Xtreme.

I tend to go for American reloading for the deals and free shipping. Most of their stuff are pulls but never had any issues and I’m not shooting ultra-precision pistol anyway.
