Today during range time I officially passed 5000 rounds through my Performance Center Smith and Wesson Shield 9mm. I thought for anyone interested I'd post about it. I've owned this gun for about 3 years and I take it and shoot 100 to 250 rounds pretty regular at my steel target range behind the house. I find this gun to be one of the most ergonomic semi automatic guns I own and one that I very naturally shoot very well out to 50 yards. I'll attach the pictures below, but the fit and finish are great, literally has not worn the gun down at all so far. No malfunctions whatsoever in 5000 rounds, mix of factory and reloaded ammo but mostly my lead reloads. Upon disassembly the gun honestly doesnt even feel broken in yet, take down lever is still tight and requires effort to depress, recoil spring feels as stiff as it did to begin with, barrel hood showing very little wear. This gun is holstered and carried constantly, dont see very much wear from that either. Now I am self proclaiming that I am a revolver guy, but I have fallen in love with this gun and everything about it. I trust this firearm to protect my children and I without fail. I'm interested to see how far I can push this gun actually. The standard 9mm Smith and Wesson Shields can be had for 250$ now, I have one standard model in addition to this one and will be picking up another. In my opinion, for value, reliability, and longevity, this gun can't be beat by anything on the market today.
