Going through some of my stuff to sell and came across a 6mm-5.45 that I built several years ago. Had an old take-off 243 barrel that my bud cut down and made the upper. Went back and looked at the round again and forgot how impressive it is. I zero'd the upper on a couple different loads and put it away.

Anyone else ever worked with this round? May be a non-standard keeper.

Have an AK in 5.45. Never cared for the caliber. Much prefer 7.62x39

I built a wildcat AR a couple years ago, 25-223, I like it! It's accurate, easy to load for and makes a decent hunting rifle for my part of the country.
I took a deer with it just a few days ago so it's a keeper for me.

There is a 6x45 wildcat that just necks up the .223 to .243. Never heard of someone taking the 5.45x39 and necking up to 6mm. Nothing wrong, just never heard of it. Anything is possible when wildcatting.

@REELDOC, what velocities are you getting with which projos? Accuracy and what length of barrel did you settle for?

The 6mmx45 was the thing when I was a young guy. Don't know if anyone makes barrels for it now.
