Ok.. I got suckered.. I disremember where, but this was one of those "great deals" on somma that funky brand shotgun food.
I didn't even know slugs could "pattern". At 20 yards I've got the guy on one of those IDPA practice targets "surrounded".
Meanwhile, the Federal fodder is rippin the heart out of it.
..I'll be diggin around for a place with some kindof reasonable price on the Fed.
This other mess will be tradin fodder for the apocalypse. šŸ„“
Oughtta work fine for those GOW style battles with Shockwaves.. :rolleyes:šŸ˜£šŸ˜Ž

I tried some as well.
Shotgun really liked Federal and Mili.
This...not so much.

I was curious. Only one way to find out. And I did.
Do you pay top dollar for everything? šŸ˜

No. I bought some Maxxtech or whatever that crap is at Walmart once. Itā€™s still the only crap that has defeated a CZ for me. I also have a bunch of cheap 22LR for range days. I buy the cheapest shampoo and soaps I can. I also buy the generic ziploc and garbage bags. And napkins. With guns, knives and tools I like quality. This comes from learning and mistakes earlier in life.

I did however but a Jeep a few years ago so I certainly havenā€™t lived long enough to learn everything. Some lessons must be learned through pain.

Yup. Ima take muh whoopin' and fork out for some decent ammo. I'm finding the Fed stuff ~90cpr on ammoseek.
Even less, but with shipping.
Was the Jeep one of those muy macho jobs that woulda looked right-at-home if GI Joe-with-the-kung-fu-grip were at the wheel?
Enquiring minds wanna know..!! šŸ˜ šŸ˜ŗ

Nope. Just utilitarian truck, I have a pretty much stock Jeep Gladiator Willyā€˜s so I can get up the hill to the mountain place in the Winter. Iā€™ve walked up the hlll to the tune of 1/2 a mile carrying shit with a FWD car. A 4wd vehicle was needed. No leather, no adaptive cruise or blind spot monitors. Just a basic mid sized truck. But I did add a high end cell phone holder. šŸ˜Ž

Pretty sure these are actually a saboted slug and not a full bore rifled slug, and they're notoriously undersized. Before you splurge on the Federal for target practice, try a box or two of the Sterling "Big Game" slug. That is the full bore traditional rifled slug, and probably what you thought you were getting with these.

I dissected one that got deformed in The Beast (M12AK). The Beast choked on these from the 10rd mag. But fed fine from the 5rd.
And also just kinda flung'em in a general that-a-way kinda direction. Which is fine as I didn't get that one for running slugs.
There's a very noticeable difference in the recoil impulse from the this and the Fed. The Fed feels more stout.
The slug itself is tapered and measures .670" at the base.
I don't know enough about shotgun loads to tell if that's a sabot or a wad. My guess is it's just a wad.
The rifling on the slug looks just like the pic on the box. It's amazing how wrong it gets in such a short distance. :mad:šŸ˜‚

Buy cheap ā€¦ you normally get cheap. Iā€™ve seen overall shell length vary a significant amount in cheap stuff (to a point where I actually can only load 6 shells in my M1S90 that holds 7 of Federalā€™s good stuff). Federalā€™s stuff (especially FightControl Wad stuff) beats the hell out of anything else in my SD shotgun. When I see it at a good price I stack that stuff real deep! Cheap stuff can have its place but sometimes it is a waste too.

Thanks for posting. And I agree with Fubar...cheap stuff has its place, and its just when doing mag dumps or non-precision training and stuff.

It was worth a shot..
Woulda been easier to swallow if I'd got just a few boxes to try.
Wasn't expecting too much out of it.
Although I hafta say it's inaccuracy was quite impressive!! šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
