That’s good to hear.Nope, all the comments I hear are about how cute our kids are. Personally, I couldn't care less what others think of my family as long as they don't get in the way of us living our lives. Thoughts are not crimes, yet.
Personally I ain’t going on offense against a semi-auto long gun with my carry gun compact 9mm handgun. Yes, if backed into a corner I will defend my family and my own life but I’m not bulletproof, I do not wear body armor or a badge and I am old enough to realize the odds and I’m no Superman.
The assault weapons ban from the 90's is coming back with no sunset. Sniper Rifles are next.
Yes, LE was there quickly. In that time there were still a lot of dead (very tragically). The only way to make it close to zero is to be armed on the spot.
Then the next choice is to be reactive or preemptive. Each of those has its own issues.
Seems like the interior of a Walmart with all the aisles, etc. would be almost ideal for outmaneuvering an active shooter to get a viable pistol shot. I'm the last one to fault anyone for not doing so because I have never and hope to never be in that situation and until that happens I can only hope I could do what my conscious tells me is right. For a young father to risk all that would happen to his family if he was to die attempting to save others, it's much more of a sacrifice than an old fart like me who has not much more to do here than die well.Very true,
Again being armed is not the end all be all. The willingness to use the gun is the main aspect. I think that the idea of firepower equalization needs to the adressed in your post that quoted me a few posts ago.
I completely agree with the idea you bring up on a base level, the exacution in a situation might not be as clear. I know that any person with the ability to shoot a handgun can kill a rifleman within the proper context. The over match is not firearm or caliber related is 100% its mindset.

One statistic that I would like to know is the number of people who where in Walmart carrying a firearm. Not trying to throw the coward label on anyone but to me it is fairly obvious a guy with a AK can rule any place in America with little to no fear of reprisal. So much for concealed carry being of any use in these circumstances. Is open carry of a equal weapon the next step for a family trip? They open carry in Israel so why not here.
It surprises me that any Walmart in the state of Texas would have no shots fired at the killer, just saying.Again, who cares about the number of guns in a situation. The real question is who has a gun and ready to USE IT?
Open, concealed, slung, bagged. Makes no difference.

There was a report of a Army Specialist that was armed with his concealed carry gun. He gathered around and behind him bunch of kids and took a defense position.

And this is the correct use of a CCP. DEFENCE.There was a report of a Army Specialist that was armed with his concealed carry gun. He gathered around and behind him bunch of kids and took a defense position.

If we had national open carry, all the 911 call centers would be flooded with a guy or gal with a gun, six patrol officers arrive to surround the lawful carrier. One statistic that I would like to know is the number of people who where in Walmart carrying a firearm. The "but this was Texas" angle is one of the most annoying things to emerge from this tragedy.
I've driven through El Paso twice. Both times, I drove right on through without stopping. That city looks like a shit hole country...
I feel like all big cities, no matter what state they are in, are turning blue... It makes me sad to think that masses of city folk have so much voting power over those of us who live in rural areas. They can't wait to give away my rights and pat themselves on the back...AOC vowed recently that the Dems would take Texas in 2020. This may help. Texas isn’t what it used to be. And every city there isn’t full of gun toting cowboys.

And they will do anything they can to get rid of the EC too. Then we will all be screwed...Truth. We’d probably be in chains already if it was for the Electoral College.

I’m with John, even though we disagree on our views of free tuna, I’ve always believed and been trained in the mindset that violence of action goes a long way.Very true,

I do think there is some form of high level shenanigans in all this.
It's possible so I'm asking the following again,
Anybody have knowledge or insight to the following:
So there are reports of multiple shooters and if there was not then how did this kid shoot 46 people with one 30 rd magazine?
I mean while monitoring the news I believe it was said this kid did not reload.
