Well the Veteran's Day Skirmish went rather well for the Palmetto Sharpshooters. We had 15 members in attendance and most were shooting. We fielded 2 musket teams, 2 carbine teams, a smoothbore team and an artillery team. Had a Blast!
Entrance road into the range. Even though overcast, it was a beautiful weekend for burning the Holy Black with mild weather.
Our Smoothbore team hammering away. The guy on the right is a retired Marine shooting an original 1842 Macon with very likely Confederate origin.
Carbine A team in action and yes, that's a "school Marm" on the line.
Musket A team in action.
Teach giving fire to the "Wee Beastie". She's leaning back cuz this thing has some nasty backtalk.
Shot Out! We stacked 6 cannon shot into one hole in the backstop. Since we retrieve and recast it made finding them much easier. Problem is, they drive each other deeper and deeper. We only retrieved 4 of that six. The other two were nearly 6 feet into the berm.
Sunday morning shot of A and B Musket teams. And no, that target isn't a musket target. It was our bullseye artillery target. There's 9 shots in those holes. Course of fire for artillery consisted of 12 shots at a bullseye and also had to break a board in half which we did with 3 shots.
