I have read they do it to help load trucks more efficiently, so everything fits better. No idea if that is true.
Coming from someone who loaded trucks for multiple furniture places, fedex and ups, I will say it makes sense. It’s a PITA loading a trailer with random size and shaped boxes.
I used to unload trailers for Micheal. Picture a container filled floor to ceiling with no two boxes the same size, anything from the size of a vhs tape to a recliner chair, all tossed in with no particular thought or planning.
Oh fun times lol. I had similar experiences while work for Mitchell Gold Bob Williams. Big ass armoires down to little glass balls about the size of a softball.
FedEx and UPS was the worse, When sorting and unloading
I got a magpul qd swivel today, came in a 12”x8”x8” box. They must get great shipping rates.
This is true--at least at their warehouses, it is. It's all about space efficiency, not organization. The computers remember/know where everything is. I'd imagine it's similar on the trucks. Wouldn't be surprised if they rent the trucks by the whole truck, rather than pay per package.I have read they do it to help load trucks more efficiently, so everything fits better.
