Ameriglo has a red dot now

I’ll be interested in seeing some reviews, hopefully they are good as it’s always nice to see more competition getting into this market. Some initial thoughts just looking at it:

-Good call going with the RMR footprint and it appears to be a side load battery.
-The battery life is a bit on the low side compared to current optics on the market, but if their motion activated Tech works well then it shouldn’t be an issue.
-I think they may have priced that a little too highe to be competitive with some of the proven optics out there already. Although we’ll what street pricing actually is.

That^^^

I like their "iron sights” for some of my Glocks A LOT, but I won’t pay them that for an optic just entering the market. I don’t see a difference for my applications (if I get back into carry optics), and the Holosuns for a Benjamin less.

You can get RM06 RMRs for $400 if you watch for deals. I'd have a hard time justifying a new optic over an RMR (even if the side load battery is a benefit).

All of this is what i was thinking
It's probably made by some 3rd party to spec with a different name slapped on. Says it's made in the philipines... so are burris and some vortex, so my assumption is that it's burris level optic at a trijicon level price. Minimal shielding on the hood, doesn't look especially sturdy.
let's see where this goes in a year or two.

If I were them, I'd be handing out like candy to Flannel Daddy and the top YTers for reviews. The entry price is way too high for a foreign made optic with no information.

Aaron Cowan will ultimately get one and beat the snot out of it so I don't have to. I just have to wait. It if makes his white paper/YT with Trijicon/Holosun level durability it's probably worth the money, but like @DrScaryGuy I expect it to be Burris/Vortex quality.

I'm kind of proud of the fact that whenever somebody talks about famous gun gear shills, i pretty much never know who it is that we're talking about.

I’ve never ran a holosun on a pistol. I like some of the features and lower price. However those attributes haven’t been enough to sway me from RMRs. Buy once and cry once.

I have been looking at Crimson Trace red dots because of the price point. Must be a new product, haven’t seen many good reviews yet. And I might have answered my own question!

I know of a few and actually appreciate them; Lucas Botkin of TREX-Arms probably on the top of the list, although he's not what I would call a shill. He's a phenomenal shooter and has some great training resources.

I think that kid is the biggest tool on the entire internet. He’s good at playing dress up and range theatrics I’ll give him that, but I don’t know if he’s good at shooting. He very conveniently, never shows the target during any of his vids.

Maybe on Instagram? Idk, I've only watched some of his YT stuff and I can say he does show his targets, he'll walk up on video and mark them off.

His company puts out a lot of good information, politically 2A related stuff, good information on comms setup (usually his brother who was MIL), training drills, things like that. He openly admits he was just an airsoft nerd that got into firearms. He's well respected by a lot of guys I work with who know far more than I do in the realm of firearms.

To each their own, I suppose. I've gotten some good training resources from him.

I have often wondered, however, how someone with a high level of training and no combat experience would fair in an actual fight....that said, I see videos from a lot of retired SF guys where I'm like, "I don't know if that's good advice..."

He does need to do some pushups though.

Fair enough. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch anymore of his videos though. I don’t have the words to describe how much I can not stand that kid.

As to how he’d do in actual combat? I’d like to think he’d be a worthless pussy, but Who knows, it’s impossible to say. I’ve see both polar opposite ends of the spectrum from what you would expect. No one knows how they’ll perform till that first bullet cracks by you head.

I understand the sentiment. It's like how I feel when someone tells me to watch a movie with Dwayne Johnson in it.
