I'm sure most of y'all are familiar with the metal military style 50cal& 30cal ammo cans tgat Costco sells.

Can you fit more ammo in with boxes or loose ammo?

Lots more loose ammo will fit in a can. I pack mine in ziplock bags so I can grab smaller lots to stick in my range bag.
That's the way we go. Much easier, and keep the ocd at bay because I know how many is in each bag.

If you store it loose, might be smart to toss in an empty box of the ammo with the lot number etc. (assuming all same and same lot) in case you ever have issues that are ammo related.

Reloaders don't need no steenkin lot numbas.

Embrace the CDO.

Sorry...the letters were in the wrong order.

Loose. It may be overkill but I put my bulk loose rounds in a 2.5 gal zip-lok bag, throw in a few desiccant packets, and an index card containing pertinent information (brand, lot no., Date, etc.) then it goes in the ammo can. Again, it may be overkill!

Damn, I like you. I have a lot of real mans ammo that was loose. I put all them in 100rd zip lock bags before I put them in cans. That way we I go to set off a few I just grab a couple bags.
