Ammo order from Optics Planet....

Last October I placed an order with Optics Planet for 1000 rounds of Tula 9mm, 200 rounds Tula 223 and 100 rounds of Tula 45 ACP. I recently get a notice that the 45 was shipping. I asked about the other. Received an email that it should ship in October. Checked my order to see what I was going to pay for the 9mm and 223, since other sources had it in stock now. It turns out they had cancelled my 9mm order. They said that due to market factors, they couldn't honor the original price. They are advertising the same ammo that I had on backorder for almost a year as in stock. My price was @.32 cents per round they are currently selling for @$.50-.60 cents. I told them to cancel the entire order and that I won't be doing business with them again. Am I wrong to be upset?

Optics Planet as bad as the rest of them/Optics Planet Sucks

Back in October I ordered a pretty big quantity of 9mm and 380 ammo at a great price with a 4-6 week lead time. I was told at that time my price Was locked in. IIRC the 9mm was around $12 per box and 380 about the same maybe slightly higher. For the next 2-3 months I would get notices that...

Nope, they offered, then accepted the deal.
CFF would have Permanently Banned them.

Last time I dealt with them I ended up having to file a claim against them with my credit card company because I couldn't even reach them to cancel. Crazy how after you file the claim they reach right out to ya. Had them delete my account when they reached out.
 
No, they've been a PITA to deal with, list something and then it takes forever to get it.
I'll deal with others for my needs.
 
Good timing on this thread, they had a vortex scope I wanted but ended up ordering elsewhere
 
I tried to shift some business toward them, thinking they would be a good alternative to Midway and Amazon. A few transactions went OK, but then had an issue with a thermal. Haven't ordered from them since.
 
Same as another member said..... I had to file with CC company against them. A lot of times they have killer deals but not worth the hassle for me. If I had to guess they are a drop shipping company so you never really know when you are going to get your product or where it is actually coming from.
 
I had similar experiences when trying to buy an aero upper. They pushed it and pushed it and I noticed they had the same upper advertised for a different price. I cancelled the order. I'm not buying from Optics Planet ever again.

Yep. exactly this.
The office in Northbrook IL is just servers, phone operators and corporate people.

You should have seen the faces of the city council in Northbrook when someone pointed out that there was a company in their city limits selling "sniper rifle scopes and ammunition." That was glorious. It popped up during a meeting while we were protesting their anti-AR15 ordinance.
 
Optics Planet is a TERRIBLE drop shipping company!
They list almost everything as in stock, but this is based on periodic data feeds from the various suppliers and some programming logic. They often change the ETA once you place the order. Theyā€™re painful to deal with and should only be chosen as a last resort.
 
I fell for it, Optics Planet sucks! The SOBā€™s said a Tailhook was in stock, I ordered it Nov 20th, they keep pushing the ship date out every few days.
I havenā€™t done business with them for 10 years because they forked me the last time.

They shipped the treaded barrel for my ruger 57 the same day I ordered it. Of coarse now itā€™s in the hands of the usps so Iā€™ll probably see it next Christmas.
