Looks like the man who drove/crashed the truck in the Raleigh parade where a girl was accidentally killed (the man is 20 and not old enough to qualify for an NC CCH permit) and his father who is reported to be a VA resident, both had a gun either on them or in their vehicles at the parade. (Outside of the provisions of the NC Statute noted below)

I swear, you can’t fix stupid. But I don’t like it when bad choices reflect badly on all of us that seek to do the right thing.

We all know the media thrives on painting anything to do with guns as questionable, suspect and negative. But dang it! Quit giving them fuel for the fire.

Neither have been charged with concealing without a permit and you don't need a CHP to open carry and perfectly legal as long as you are over 18.

Fair to say if the driver had the pistol concealed he would have been charged for that?

Hang me if I’m wrong but I thought that was fixed several years back. Also in section (d) if I read it correctly if you have a CCH you could.

Please read the linked statute. You cannot open carry at a parade. I’m not hanging my hat on the reporting here , but it says they have been charged with having a gun at a parade.

Yep.. My bad, I somehow wasn't tracking the fix of CHP exempting us from the ridiculously stupid parade prohibition B.S.
