Any new haven style pizza in or around the triangle ?

I want a deep thick pizza with lots of cheese and good tasting sauce. Just like Pizza King, Greek style pizza that was made in Farmington Connecticut. Just ask my wife.
Deep and thick isn’t pizza, that’s lasagna 😎

I went with the boss to Chicago a few years back to look at a new machine. The company picked us up and took us to their plant. We hope you guys are hungry.

They had ordered from some famous Chicago place. 2 xl Chicago deep dish pizza's, a tray of cannoli's, and a 2ft sub cut into sections.

There were only 4 of us in the meeting. The pizza was meh to both of us. 2.5" of toppings. Was like a meat pie. Stuff falling out when you tried to pick it up and eat it. I wasnt impressed.

Oh and the bill was over $200.

Lasagna lol

Different strokes and all. I like a good Chicago pizza deep dish on occasion. Not all the time, but it has its place. 1-800-lou-to-go a knife and fork every once in a while is a good thing.

And I like lasagna too! Tomato Jake’s over by Soutpoint in Durham does a Lasagna slice. Dayum it’s good. Then again after my recent Duke Cardiology appt I should likely avoid that goodness. 😟

I’ve worked for a few companies in the Chicago area for most of my life. Every time they ordered pizza for company events it was thin crust pizza. Never knew it was a thing there until I spent enough time there. The locals don‘t eat the deep dish every week. There is a whole thin, crispy world there. Who knew?

If people ask me, "Chuckman, what's your favorite beer?", I usually answer "yes" or "free." Same with pizza. Even Domino's fills a niche.

My cousin owns a pizza shop, and when I visit, it's as much free pizza as I want. It's on the coast and they ask if I want to go out for seafood, I am like, "no, just the pizza. Keep it coming."

Yes free is always good for me but sometimes you want some elite pizza

I hear ya, but Domino’s should be like those axes behind glass. Only break glass in an emergency. I don‘t do much pizza anymore so I am not wasting my time with their trash. My daughter ordered some a while back and I tried a slice. I’d rather have frozen Stouffers French Bread pizza.
