A while back I bought a pound of Bullseye and have been using it up till now with Berry's or Xtreme 230gr plated bullets. well now i'm out of those (loaded the last hundred last week) and am now left with about 3-400 coated lead 230gr RN from The Blue Bullets.

so, since I would rather not have to go looking for a different powder between now and my next match (esp since I'm working tomorrow [sat]), the question at this point becomes...

Anybody out there have a decent load for Bullseye and 230gr coated LRN??

or do I seriously need to be looking for different powder??

seriously as far as pistol powder i'm down to BE, powder pistol and I think CFE pistol (but my experience with that was not good).

thank you in advance for any info or advice.

Bullseye for 45 acp...coated. I have a load at 4.8grs that I was running out of a G41. Its the pic I posted above.
YMMV.

Coated Lee 230 TC which weighs more like 240gr shoots very well over 5.0gr, not really a gamer load recoil is a little stiff.

A cast and moly dipped 230 gr RN over 4.4 gr of Bullseye was my old light load and 5.3 was my IPSC major.

I use the same data for coated as I do for lead. There are lots of data for Bullseye and 230 grain LRN bullets in manuals and on the internet. The loads mentioned above should work fine.

Those coated bullets do produce a funny smell when you shoot them.

Yes. the Hitek coated bullets I've shot have a burnt electrical smell. I've worked in electronics most of my life and my spider senses go off when I smell something like that. The first time I shot the Hitek bullets and caught a whiff, I stopped shooting and was looking at my phone, my chrono, my car... LOL.
