This company makes uppers to turn any 1911, xD or Glock frame into a pistol caliber carbine - including 9mm, .40 S&W, .45ACP, 10mm, and .460 Roland.

No permanent modification required. Just a magnetic feed ramp extension and your pistol frame....

Around $430 - so not bank-breaking either.

Why is the Mechtech a current viral topic? Did they do something new? 3 people have messaged me a Mechtech video on Facebook, and I’ve seen a bunch of non-gun people share it like it’s some new product.

I found an article from 2004 about MechTech.

I had one of their old model ones, I liked it a lot but like everything else gun related I ever owned I sold it. Guy I sold it to liked it a lot too.

But the “lower” is a pistol. Isn’t that illegal?
Good question! As long as the barrel and or overall length is greater then the specs below you are good to go!
Otherwise you need to do a SBR BATF&E and tax stamp.

Short-barreled rifle (SBR) is a legal designation in the United States, referring to a shoulder-fired,
rifled firearm, made from a rifle, with a barrel length of less than 16 in (41 cm) or overall length of less than 26 in (66 cm).

I really want one for my Glock 20, 10mm carbine would be a nice house gun. I really do not like not having a last round hold open bolt.
